I have been asked to do blog posts in English. Honestly, it was one of my goals for 2015, to practice my English writing skills more often. Therefore, this is officially my first English post.
My English posts will always be written in German as well, but it is definitely not going to be a 1:1 Translation.
For my English visitors: Every blog post with a German AND English title is also written for you :). If there is „just“ a title in German, it will be a blog post about something local and therefore mostly of interest for my readers from Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
My first „business trip“ as a teacher was already a year ago. In March 2014, I was invited to attend the „Microsoft in Education Global Forum in Barcelona“. Exactly a year later I’m back in Barcelona for a conference. This time the Catalan conference “ITworldEdu” invited Hermann Morgenbesser, Gergely Nádori and myself as a speaker for a Scientix round table about „Experiences in the use of ICT in STEM education from across Europe“. Moderated was this roundtable by Marina Jiménez-Iglesias. We are all involved in Scientix, a project of European Schoolnet: Marina is a Scientix Project Administrator and Teachers’ Panel Coordinator. Hermann, Gergely and I are Scientix Ambassadors.
To be a part of a roundtable as a speaker is really interesting, because the audience will ask you question as well. To interact with the audience is an enrichment. You can respond to the audiences‘ interests and get a direct feedback through their question. My main topics trough the round table were „to work with BYOD and why“ and my experience about girls and ICT at School.
It was my 4th trip to Barcelona, one of my favourite cities. I love the way of life, the food and the weather of this beautiful city. I’ll come again, I promise 🙂 !
